Retina

The retina is the innermost layer of the eye that is sensitive to light. When we look at something, the light passes through the lens in our eyes and reaches the retina. The retina then converts the light into signals that the optic nerve carries to the brain. The brain interprets these signals as images, allowing us to see the world around us. To put it in a Harry Potter context, you can think of the retina as the platform 9 ¾, the gateway to the magical world. If something goes wrong with the retina, the signals don’t reach the brain, and our ability to see the beautiful world becomes disconnected.

Our Retina Specialists are highly skilled in diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions related to the retina, which is the sensitive tissue at the back of the eye that helps us see. We use advanced tools and modern treatments to provide specialized care for different retina problems.

Retinal Detachment

Our team of retina specialists offers thorough care for diabetic retinopathy, a condition that impacts the blood vessels in the retina and can potentially result in vision loss for individuals with diabetes. We provide comprehensive treatments and support to manage this condition effectively.

Diabetic Eye Disease (Diabetic retinopathy)

The detached retina is a serious and sight-threatening experience, occurring when the retina becomes separated from its primary supportive tissue. The retina cannot work when these layers are detached. And unless soon the retina is reattached, permanent vision loss may result.

Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD):

Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD):

We have advanced treatments available for AMD, a common condition that affects the central part of the retina and can cause vision problems like blurry or distorted vision.

Retinal Vascular Diseases:

Retinal Vascular Diseases:

Our retina specialists have expertise in identifying and treating retinal vascular diseases, like retinal vein occlusion and arterial occlusion. These conditions can result in vision loss due to blockages in the blood vessels of the retina.

Intravitreal Injection

Intravitreal Injection

Intravitreal injection is a specialized procedure where medication is injected directly into the middle part of the eye, called the vitreous cavity. It is often used to treat different eye conditions like age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and other inflammatory diseases affecting the retina.
